I changed all my haircare to Philip Kingsley for four weeks - Here's what I thought

Features press samples - see disclaimer.

I'm a haircare floozy - there I said it.

Over the years I haven't been overly dependent on one brand, I use a lot from Kerastase but I also switch and swap my hair products regularly so you'll always find a ridiculously large selection in our bathroom. After being introduced to a full haircare set up by Philip Kingsley, it seemed only fair to give it my full attention and see what I thought and you know what? Not bad!

The team at Philip Kingsley set me up with five products, one of which is an old fave of mine, Elasticizer so with promises of fabulous hair, hydrated locks and the best smelling mane around, I got to work and these are the results after four weeks.

My hair is completely different since I had our son. I've always had thick, voluminous hair but that changed in 2017 as it started to fall out in clumps. My hair is now much thinner than it used to be, it doesn't look it but I have really noticed the difference especially when tying my hair up, my ponytail is half the size of what it used to be. I still get quite a lot of fall out even two years later and it feels much dryer to me than it used to be so after explaining this to the team at Philip Kingsley I had a bundle of hair loving products arrive.

The Moisture Balancing Shampoo and Conditioner set caters for medium-textured hair, which needs slightly more moisture than fine-textured hair due to its wider diameter. I tease my hair straighter but this has still been a dream to use even though I don't make the most of any curls or flicks.

Both the Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Shampoo (£20.00) and Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Conditioner (£20.00) are available in three sizes and are infused with a variety beneficial ingredients including Wheat Protein and Guar (an anti-static conditioning agent). The super-hydrating formula cleanses and balances hair by delivering the perfect amount of moisture - less at the roots, and more throughout the mid-lengths to ends to regulate the hair's moisture balance. Antioxidants defend against frizz and environmental aggressors to promote smooth, shiny locks from root to tip.

The shampoo and conditioner set has been a bloody dream to use, not only do they leave my hair incredibly silky and fizz free but it smells fabulous too! I genuinely think my hair hasn't felt or looked as good before, just a shame we're stuck in lockdown so I can't show it off!

Next up we have an old fave of mine - The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Intensive Treatment (£34.00) is the only product I've used from the brand prior to this and one I really love. The deep conditioning treatment is a super moisturising pre-cleanse treatment which helps hair look and feels its best by improving elasticity, manageability and bounce while giving hair an all-over shine.

The unique product delivers a rush of moisture inside the hair cuticle and is especially beneficial for extremely damaged hair adding silkiness, suppleness, elasticity, bounce and strength. The clever ingredient combination continues to provide UV protection even after washing - helping prolong the life of colour treatments. It's brilliant, I can't even begin to explain just how brilliant and if you haven't tried it then you need to track down a sample and give it a go, I promise it'll change your hair life.

The Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence Leave-In Conditioner (£26.00) promises to be the ultimate anti-breakage, heat protecting conditioning spray for all hair types and you know what? It's not that bad. It smells nice and leaves my hair soft but it's just one of those products I'd rarely use because I always shampoo/condition as routine in the shower. I'm sure it would be great on holidays or travelling but for me - it's a bit useless and would just collect dust in a drawer rather than be used.

Lastly is a good old can of dry shampoo, something I am never without. The Philip Kingsley One More Day Refreshing Dry Shampoo (£20.00) is brilliant and I was surprised by how much I liked this. I've tried a lot of dry shampoo over the years and always go back to Bastiste because of the size of the cans and the price but One More Day is a dream to use!

It's designed to absorb excess oil, dirt, sebum and unpleasant odours in the hair while helping to inject texture and volume. The dry shampoo gently cleanses with Zinc PCA and Allantoin, boosting shine and leaving you luscious, fresh locks in between washes. I found the white dusting was minimal as it contains a lightweight formula to prevent product build-up - it's just a brilliant dry shampoo and one I've ordered again as I've already used up the original can.

Now I've come to the end of the four weeks, I've been really impressed. utilising and liking four out of the five products really isn't that bad at all and now I'm coming towards the end of all of them - it's about time I put in my next order because this gal needs her hair staying fabulous.

Have you tried anything from Philip Kingsley before? What did you think?
