March Empties

Earlier today I posted my March Favourites post which you can see here, so this evening I am following it up with my March Empties. At the beginning of the year, when I first started my blog I vowed to use up many of the products I had laying around collecting dust. Mainly because the more space I had, the sooner I could buy more stuff to fill those draws again.

March Favourites

So it's that time again where I do a little run down of my favourites from the past month. I can't quite believe we're going into April already and the 31st is also a little special for me as I've been writing my blog for three months today! Crazy how fast that has gone. Anyway back to the post, some of my favourites are things I've done reviews on this month so instead of me blabbing on about them again I'll link them back so you can have a read.

The Highlighter of Dreams, Stereo Rose

I really wanted to pick something up from MAC's latest collection A Fantasy of Flowers but I wasn't too taken with the lipstick shades which is what I tend to go for, so I put it to the back of my mind. That was until I came across a couple of reviews about Stereo Rose. I went and checked it out but still didn't buy it. Over the next few weeks I kept going back and looking at it until finally it became mine! Isn't it a beauty?

My MUA Lipstick Collection

MUA is a brand that I am sure many of you have heard of, and one that I'm also sure that you all have lurking away in make up bags and drawers. I came across MUA a few years ago when I needed some emergency make up on my way to work. I've tried quite a few of their products and have been impressed with each one. And who could moan at their price tags? You could fit out your entire make up bag for £20!

MAC Cosmetics Girl About Town

I've been wanting to get a new MAC lipstick for a while, one that was completely out of my comfort zone and different to anything I already have. I tweeted a few nights ago asking for recommendations and Girl About Town was mentioned a lot. So off I went on Saturday to my local store to pick out my new lipstick and this was swiftly paid for and taken home.

Bobbi Brown Nude Eye Palette

How beautiful is the Bobbi Brown S/S14 Nude Eye Palette? I was a very lucky girl and won this in the beautiful Rosie's 500 follower giveaway! I couldn't believe I'd won and when this was delivered, I couldn't stop looking at it. I tend to walk around the Bobbi Brown counters longing to own their beautiful palettes but not quite being able to justify buying one so I will be making the most of this over the Spring months.

Hair Products for Bleached Hair

I've been having my hair bleached and highlighted for a good two or so years now. I'm naturally blonde but I had long, chocolate brown hair for years and in a desperate attempt to get back to blonde I put my hair through a lot of stress. I now have a fabulous hairdresser who has been maintaining my blonde locks and keeping them looking healthy but in between 8 weekly cut and colours I also need to do my bit and that is where this post comes.

Soap & Glory Feel Good Factor

As I've got older I've taken a bit more care with what I'm putting on my face and how I'm taking it off. Since the New Year I've been picking up lotions and potions whenever I can. Soap & Glory's skin care range is something I'm only just delving into, and that is how I came across this little wonder Feel Good Factor.

How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

Every Sunday I deep clean my brushes, occasionally I'll slack off and not do them but more often than not, I'll give them a good clean. There is nothing worse than dirty brushes covered in week old make up and bacteria. Not only is it pretty disgusting, I can also feel my brushes just not applying my make up as well as they should. I always use Johnson's Baby Shampoo which you can usually pick up between £1.00 - £1.50, this is the only thing I've ever used so I can't comment whether solutions specifically for brush cleaning are better.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow

I haven't tried many items from Benefit Cosmetics, I personally think that their products are a little over priced so I tend to bypass the pretty pink counters when shopping for make up. If I had a bit more spare cash then I would probably try a few more of their products but alas I don't, so I'm still a bit unsure how this even ended up in my shopping basket! Let's just say Emma who works on their counter in Boots Southampton is very good at selling their products. She helped find the price of something else before talking to me about 'Gimme Brow'. It all happened so quickly and next minute I know, I was walking out with it.

Real Techniques Brush Haul

With Boots latest 3 for 2 offer, which I think everyone has taken full advantage of, I picked up some more Real Techniques brushes. Now, I'm a sucker for a Real Techniques brush and I'm building quite the collection! I even have some doubles to use for various things. So I couldn't resist getting more.. naturally. I picked up the Blush Brush, Expert Face Brush and the Setting Brush. All of which were new additions to the collection.

My First Look at Decleor Skincare

Decleor is a skincare brand I had never heard of until a friend started working with them a few months ago. Over the next few months Aimee and I are on a little quest to overhaul my own skincare routine while also getting this fabulous brand a few new fans. I went into John Lewis today to see what skincare is available and to have my skin type assessed so I could pick up some samples to try out over the next few weeks to see how I get on with it.

Top 5 Spring Nail Polish

So the evenings are slowly getting lighter and we're all starting to see that big, yellow ball in the sky a bit more frequently which means one thing.. Spring has almost sprung! What better way to see yourself into Spring than to do so with pastel nails because let's be honest, it's still a bit too cold to wear our perfect, pastel outfits.

No.7 Beautifully Matte Foundation

I picked this up after reading a post that Anna from House of Bargain had written about finding a much cheaper alternative to Estee Lauder's Double Wear and NARS Sheer glow. Now, I have neither of the above foundations and have only tried a weeks sample of Double Wear, I was really impressed with it but couldn't justify spending the money on it at the time.

YSL Rouge Volupte No.1

Look how beautiful it is! When I first picked this up, I spent a good few minutes just looking at it. It's iconic, gold casing is just so luxurious and I love that it's coloured band represents the shade of lipstick inside so accurately.
