In my Autumn Bucket List post I said about how I really wanted to visit a pumpkin patch as I'd never been to one before and last weekend I finally did. I've been hunting for a local one in Southampton and it turns out there's one just ten minutes up the road so on a gloriously sunny, Sunday morning, that is exactly where we went.
We went to Pickwell Farm in Southampton which is a working farm that you can visit to pick your own fruit and veg. Also, in true farm shop fashion, it was full to the brim with Yankee Candles. We grabbed a wheelbarrow once we were all together and made our way down to the pumpkin field and it was exactly how I imagined. The first ten minutes were spent taking photos for Instagram.
I want to paint pumpkins a la Pinterest so I had a pretty set idea of what sizes and colours I wanted. I soon found my perfect pumpkins and for £2 each, for any size, they were a bargain too. After we walked all around the pumpkin patch and into the cornfields, we made our back up to the farm shop to buy some baby pumpkins. Arran and I came away with seven pumpkins for just £7.21.
The four of us have decided to make it an annual trip and it'll be even better next year as Henry will be walking by then too.
