Five Favourite Lip Shades for Autumn

The blogging world is full of Autumn lip posts but thanks to everyone not having the same tastes, they're all different. I've noticed with my own posts that the brands and shades I use have changed so much over the years and that is why I always write a post like this. I find them fun to read and I get to see what others are using as I always find a new shade to try myself. I have five different shades in my Autumn lip run down this year, one of which is a repeat offender.

Adding a dark lip to an outfit is the quickest way to take it to the next level. I was always terrified of rocking it at first but over the years I've fallen big for dark berry trends and you'll rarely see me without a dark, sultry pout during the colder months.

Revlon Matte Balm in Fierce £7.99
I love the Revlon Matte Balms for all year round and would never be without Audacious for those summer months so while browsing the aisles of Boots one day I came across this sultry, brown shade called Fierce. The Matte Balms come in chubby crayons that twist up to reveal more product. They give a velvety, matte slick of colour and for all day long wear, just apply when needed. The balm has a moisture like consistency meaning lips don't get dry during wear and it has a minty fragrance. They're so worth a lunchtime trip to Boots for a little treat on the side of your meal deal.

Sin is my ultimate dark lip for Autumn/Winter. I picked this up through their Back 2 MAC scheme and boy, am I glad I did. It is probably one of the darkest shades I own and I am always asked what it is when I'm wearing it, sign of a good lipstick I think. Sin comes in their Matte formula, which is what I tend to buy all their lipsticks in as the staying power is incredible. I usually wear this alongside a MAC Cosmetics lip liner in Nightmoth for the perfect pout. If you want to be daring then try out Sin next time you find yourself at the counter.

Rebel has quickly become the classic Autumn shade for bloggers and lipstick fans alike. You'd be hard pressed not to find this in a lipstick addicts collection. This was another shade I picked up through Back 2 MAC as it was just one of those must haves. Rebel comes in a satin finish and is described on their website as a mid-tone cream plum and that couldn't be any truer. It was love at first application. Dark and a little daunting in the bullet, Rebel leaves a gorgeous, dark raspberry pink on the lips.

Wet n Wild in Mocha-Licious  €2.99
I've been trying more brown toned lipsticks this year and while I was in Spain I discovered a Wet n Wild counter full of lipsticks from their Mega Last range so I picked up a few bullets ready for Autumn. Mocha-Licious is a matte, reddish, brown and nothing like anything I already own. The matte formula is surprisingly creamy and applies beautifully. It also lasts for so long, weeks if I didn't need to take it off sometimes. I really wish I'd bought even more!

Nudus in Dirty Diana £22.00
Firstly, I love the name of this as it's one of my favourite Michael Jackson songs but it doesn't stop there! Dirty Diana is the creamiest, long wearing stick of red wine goodness. Handcrafted in Australia, the lipstick nourishes and protects lips while leaving a bold, statement colour. It applies so matte but doesn't leave lips dry or chalky thanks to its ingredients of vitamins and plant extracts. Nudus are also cruelty and gluten free.
