Tis the season to be jolly and that means warm mince pies, cosy evenings my family and plenty of Christmas films. I find at this time of year I begin to slow down which isn't a bad thing when my to-do list is so long, I just prioritise what needs to be done so I can make the most of time with my family! I really like to keep my evenings completely clear in the winter so they can be filled with what we love most be it a deliciously warm stew or curling up under a blanket to watch Disney films.
It may sound strange but I think there's nothing more perfect than the lights dimmed, festive candles burning and the sound of the rain pit pattering against the window as you curl up inside with delicious snacks and films. We decorate for Christmas together as a family with Joshua placing the star on the tree with the help of Arran so as the lights twinkle and sizzling pigs in blankets are taken out of the oven, it's the perfect time to hunker down for the afternoon.
We have five points that we stick to:
1. Christmas films
2. Cosy Pyjamas
3. Blankets
4. Festive treats
5. Hot chocolate
The hardest part is usually deciding what film to watch first. We've collected quite a number of them of the last few years and now we have our little one we've had to get some child-friendly ones too. Elf is one of our favourites to watch with Joshua and I can't wait to introduce him to Miracle on 34th Street soon.
Joshua is at a stage now where he will snuggle under a blanket with us and watch a movie which is so lovely, I don't mind sharing some pigs in blankets with him either. We make dairy-free hot chocolates topped with mini marshmallows and cuddle, watch films and snack. For us, it's our perfect Christmassy afternoon and the ideal way to hide away from the cold weather too.

This sounds like the perfect way to spend an afternoon! I love getting snuggled up in with winter months, and it must be so much fun to see Joshua experiencing all the Christmassy magic. Miracle on 34th Street is one of my absolute favourites, I'm sure he'll love it too when you watch it with him! That jumper he's wearing is SO cute, I wish it came in my size haha!

Sounds like such a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! Elf is my all-time favourite Christmas movie, it never fails to make me laugh - I've never seen Miracle on 34th Street, so I might just have to add it to my list for this year!
