When it comes to travelling, my favourite thing to do is hunt down the best food, coffee and cocktail spots in the destination we are visiting ahead of time and plan a little itinerary around them. Having been to Benidorm a few times before and calling our first trip the 'Boujee Benidorm' visit, I was so pleased to see some of our favourite restaurants on the list for my press trip with Jet2 at the beginning of October.
I never put them in a post at the time, but I thought now is better than never. If you're heading to Benidorm and really want to experience the incredible gastronomy scene in the city, then these are the spots must be at the top of your foodie visit list.
First up, D'Vora - somewhere I do not stop banging on about. My partner and I ate here for the first time in 2025 and still regularly mention the food we tried whilst visiting. It was a relief to go back and receive the same level of excellent service and quality a year later, meaning I can thoroughly recommend it. Set within the cliffs looking over Levante Beach and the Mediterranean, it's a beautiful spot to enjoy the city, day or night. Opening in 2018, the restaurant showcases a dynamic and interesting menu with a mix of Mediterranean flavours and Asian fusion.
Some must-try items from the menu would be the Fresh Bread paired with Alicante Olive Oil, the Iberian Ham and my personal favourite, the Pork Fillet on a bed of Asparagus and Sweet Potato with a Chimichurri Glaze.
Tapas Alley in Benidorm Old Town is known for its array of restaurants, but at first glance, it can be incredibly overwhelming to pick the 'best' one, especially as most of the waiters hurry you in from outside. We personally love La Taperia de Aurrera for its quality, service and general vibe.
The calamari here is incredible, as is the steak, ham and cheese croquettes, and patatas bravas. My favourite thing to do here is sit outside if there is space and watch the world go by. If there is one thing I can get on board with in Spain, it is long, leisurely dinners with friends until late at night.
A little further along, opposite Poniente Beach, you'll find Aruba Gastrobar - a beach-themed restaurant serving up stunning views and delicious menus. It offers a varied menu with a strong focus on fresh ingredients, lighter Mediterranean-style dishes, and well-presented plates, making it a good option for health-conscious diners who still enjoy variety.
We enjoyed fresh salads with burrata, some incredible sushi and an array of fresh cocktails over lunch. The relaxed beach club vibes really made this place, and as we didn't get to try anything from the dessert fridge because we were too full, it's on the list to go back to one day soon.
Getting to visit Exotico Restaurant was a real treat, as it was somewhere we hadn't got to ourselves yet. It's set within Primavera Park Hotel and has excellent reviews. As you step into Exotico, you're met with low lights, a beautiful central bar, and gorgeous interiors. Whilst the service was not great, the cocktails, especially the Pisco Sour, were some of the best I've ever had, and the food was sensational. As we were a larger group, we ordered a range of dishes, and I and another shared one of their Dry Aged Beef Steaks with wine reduction, truffle mayonnaise, and grilled onion - incredible.
The standout dish, believe it or not, was one of the sides: Smashed Baby Potatoes with red pesto. When I tell you these were the best potatoes I've ever eaten? Unbelievable.
If you're looking for fresh seafood and an authentic Spanish offering, then you must visit La Posada del Mar, down on Poniente Beach. They have a great, easy menu with plenty of choice, and they were so great when cooking for my allergy. We enjoyed traditional Spanish tapas, Iberian meats, and the sangria was perfect for how hot it was when we visited. The restaurant itself is light and airy, and the views are beautiful. It's a great spot just to the side of the Old Town, especially if you want something a little quieter.
Finally, one of my favourite places to book in Benidorm, Selvatico Rooftop Bar also inside Primavera Park Hotel. As for views go, Selvatico has one of the best in the city, and with an infinity pool to one side with beautiful lighting, it's pretty spectacular. You can enjoy speciality cocktails, great music, and a relaxed vibe with a choice of tables, day beds, swing chairs and more.
Most people aim to book for sunset, but having visited during sunset and at night, I prefer it at night. It's just beautiful, and it's a really fab spot to while away the evening with an espresso martini and your favourite person.
