New In Homeware

I've always loved buying homeware but it's so much more fun when you have your own home to furnish. I'm forever hunting for new bits and pieces to give our home more of an us feel and buying decorative pieces is my favourite. With the colder months fast approaching I've been making sure I have a steady supply of candles as there is nothing more homely than the flicking light of a candle while snuggling down for the night.

My sister bought us the Jo Malone candle in Red Roses as part of our Engagement present and it's beautiful. I wouldn't usually go for a rose scent as most are quite synthetic smelling but this is on another level. It's a blend of seven of the world's most exquisite roses with a hint of violet and lemon. The scent will always hold a special place in our hearts now too. With a new found love of rose I then ordered the Rewined Rose scented candle from Trouva. The candles are made from recycled bottles of wine and the scents reflect the wine they once were. The rose candle has notes of rose petal, white peach and pink peppercorn and it leaves a light scent to our home.

The last candle I've been burning non stop is by Kerzon in Amber & Spices and I cannot express how much I love this. French made, the candle smells of balmy nights in the med and instantly reminds me of the old spice markets I'd go to in Spain. The candle also comes with a scent sachet which I've been keeping in our room.

Homesense is my favourite place for one off pieces which is where the wood and glass candle holder is from. I keep a church candle inside, filled with fairy lights from Primark. I also bought the metal and hessian basket to keep blankets in and the glass terrarium from Homesense. Lastly is our new cushion for the sofa, the Hay Printed cushion by Richard Woods in a modern, black and white print. The cushion is cotton and has a feather filling which makes it the perfect cushion to cuddle into. I'm laid on it, on the floor writing this post and I don't ever want to let it go. Thankfully the cover is also removable as I can be quite clumsy so I don't have to worry about not being able to wash it if I spill coffee over.

Where have you been buying your homeware pieces recently?
