How We Print & Store Our Family Memories

Printing photos and keeping photo albums isn't as common as it once was now we're in such a digital heavy age. It's something I've always done, I love being able to print my memories and store them in albums or as Polaroids hung by pegs and yarn.

What's the point in have them stored on a memory card from them never to see the light of day?

"We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone"

Some of my fondest memories as a child were spent looking through photo albums and I want Joshua to be able to do that too so I've really made the effort in recent years to document our memories into books and photo albums. Joshua has a baby journal that I've religiously filled in since my pregnancy and I also created a book for the first year of his life to look back on although right now it's usually just me flicking through trying not to cry and mess up the pages.

Cheerz is a company I've used for absolutely years, I have worked with them but I do buy a lot of their products so they've always been my go to for printing photos and creating photo books. For Joshua's first birthday and Christmas, I created photo books full of memories that I'll continue to do for as long as I can.

I love that we have these special moments to look back on whenever we want to.

The majority of our photos are printed out as Polaroids that I've ordered, I then just collect them into different albums, pin them on the fridge or hang them up. Joshua is at an age now where he points out and says the name of who is in the photos which is the sweetest thing.

Before Christmas, I was sent an Instax Share SP-2 Printer by a brand along with the instant film so in an effort to get my photos off of Instagram I've been using the printer to print direct from my phone this year too. I have a few of the mini photo albums that fit the credit card sized Polaroids so I've been filling those up at the moment with all our photos from this summer.

I prefer the printer to the camera as you don't run the risk of wasting any of the film on a rubbish photo. I don't think I'd go back to an Instax camera ever again now I have this.

So at the moment, this is how we print and store our family memories, it's become a little hobby of mine to be honest. I just shut myself away with a cuppa and print what I need and stick or attach the photos with washi tape or store away in albums.

My next mission is to finally sit down with my Project Life scrapbook my lovely friend Tanya bought me as a baby gift. I have all the bits ready to go, I just need to plan out what I want to do with it and start but I'm such a perfectionist with things like that I know I need to be 100% before I start on it.

If you have any Project Life tips please let me know!

Are you an avid photo printer like me or are you a slave to the digital life?
