Why you need to add Princess Plus to your Princess Cruise

(This is a paid partnership with Princess Cruises - see disclaimer)

If you're planning a cruise, you might be wondering whether or not to add a package to your booking to make the most of your cruise and having recently sailed with Princess Cruises while using the Princess Plus package, I am going to tell you exactly why you need it.

Princess Plus is a package offered alongside two others by Princess Cruises and is designed to provide guests with a convenient and all-inclusive experience during their cruise. It's the best way to save on things you're gonna do anyway and includes things like premium desserts, fitness classes and staff gratuities.

When it comes to cruising with Princess, the starting package is Princess Standard, their "no frills" fare. This includes all the core Princess experiences such as accommodations, dining, entertainment and your Medallion wearable with a lanyard that enables you to have a truly effortless holiday. This is perfect if you're just looking to explore the ship, take it easy and enjoy what is already available for you when it comes to dining and drinks.

The package above Princess Plus is the Princess Premier and currently works out at £65 per day, per guest with a total value of $257 per day, per guest. This includes Princess dining, accommodations, entertainment and MedallionClass experience as well as the below:

  • Premier Beverage Package (drinks up to $20 each)
  • Wi-Fi (up to 4 devices per guest)
  • Crew Appreciation
  • 2 speciality dining meals per guest
  • Photo package (unlimited digital + 3 prints)
  • Princess Prizes
  • NEW Premium desserts (unlimited)
  • NEW Fitness classes (unlimited)
  • NEW Unlimited juice bar
  • NEW Medallion accessory
  • NEW Reserved theatre seating (for production shows only)

It's a really impressive package, especially with a 69% saving!

The Princess Plus package offered by Princess Cruises is what we had during our voyage and made our experience completely seamless from start to finish. Included in this are:

Beverages:
The Princess Plus package includes a Premier Beverage Package that allows guests to enjoy a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on board the ship. It typically covers cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, speciality coffees, and bottled water.

Wi-Fi:
During your cruise, you'll be able to enjoy unlimited Wi-Fi access across the ship meaning guests can stay connected with their friends and family, browse the internet, check emails, and access social media platforms. For us, the Wi-Fi worked really well and made being able to use the Ocean Ready app made the experience a complete breeze.

Gratuities:
Gratuities or service charges are also included in the Princess Plus package. This means that the daily gratuity charges for dining staff, stateroom stewards, and other service personnel are already taken care of meaning you don't have to worry about it at the end of your cruise.

NEW Premium desserts (2 per day):
You can indulge your sweet tooth each day with two Princess Premium desserts! From elaborate confections overflowing with gelato to pastry and candy mixtures! Available within Gelateria, Swirls or Coffee and Cones, it's an experience you must try while onboard.

NEW Fitness classes (2 per cruise):
While the state-of-the-art fitness centre is available to use during your cruise the addition of fitness classes with Xponential is a benefit of Princess Plus. Xponential is the largest global franchise group of boutique fitness brands across a variety of verticals including pilates, barre, cycling and more. You can choose two classes per cruise from Xponential making it a great option for staying balanced (if you want to!) during your time away.

NEW Unlimited juice bar:
Enjoy freshly-squeezed, hand-crafted, raw fruit and vegetable juices and artfully blended smoothies and clean, natural and nutrient-rich creations that support a healthy lifestyle. Perfect for enjoying by the pool.

With most things, the packages are subject to certain terms and conditions. Here are a few things to consider:

  • The package is generally available for all guests in the same stateroom or suite.
  • The package must be booked for the entire duration of the cruise and is not available on a daily basis.
  • The package is available on select voyages and is subject to availability.
  • Additional terms and restrictions may apply, so it's advisable to check with Princess Cruises or your travel agent for the most up-to-date information.

For us, the Princess Plus package was hugely convenient and it made our experience on the ship really easy, especially with the OceanReady app. It just allowed us to indulge in anything we fancied or try certain cocktails for the first time to work out what our favourites might be. Being connected with the Wi-Fi and having gratuities taken care of also provided such a hassle-free experience meaning we didn't have anything to check over or clear up before sadly stepping off the ship.
