Stand Up Against Street Harassment with L'Oréal Paris

L'Oréal Paris has always championed women's empowerment by encouraging generations of women to realise their self-worth, starting with the renowned 'Because You're Worth It' tagline. Street harassment is the #1 issue faced by women worldwide, with 80% having experienced sexual harassment in public spaces. It impacts women's daily life, robbing them of their sense of security and confidence. Because this type of violence goes against everything L'Oréal Paris stands for, the brand is committed to Stand Up Against Street Harassment globally.

Together with international NGO partner, Right To Be, and their local charity partner the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, L'Oréal has joined forces to train everyone in the 5Ds methodology by Right To Be through training sessions in both public spaces and online at

To date, more than 800,00 people around the world have already been trained. To coincide with this partnership, L'Oréal has launched the 'A Lipstick is not a YES' campaign during the annual L'Oréal Paris catwalk show 'Le Défilé Militant' during Paris Fashion Week at the beginning of October.

As a global initiative, 100% of the proceeds from each limited edition lipstick in the shade 'Le Rouge Liberté' (Freedom Red) will go to each country's charity partner who is training up their nation on the Stand Up Against Street Harassment programme.

"As an advocate of women empowerment, we invite everyone to Stand Up Against Street Harassment with a bold red lip. Because all women are worth it!"
Delphine Viguier-Hovasse (global president of L'Oréal Paris)

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust is the UK's pioneering personal safety charity and leading stalking authority, established in 1986, following the disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh, an estate agent and lone worker who went to meet a client and never returned. Suzy was never found and declared deceased after seven years in 1993.

"Everyone has the right to be safe. But as our survey finds, a shocking number of people - disproportionally women - are experiencing harassment in public spaces. It is unacceptable. Stand Up Against Street Harassment bystander intervention training aims to address the prevalence of public harassment. Working with L'Oréal Paris through Stand Up, we aim to equip people with tools to tackle public harassment. Bystanders can play an important role in supporting victims, helping them feel - and be - safer."
Suky Bhaker (The Suzy Lamplugh Trust CEO)

The lipstick is available to purchase now in-stores and online.
