Everything you need to get Festive Ready

Christmas parties, family dinners, drinks with the girls, Christmas markets - it's all going on this month and that means sequin outfits, the hottest red lip and a little help getting ready for the big night. So I've pulled together five brands that will get you festive ready this December whether it's Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve.

Find your scent
When it comes to fragrance, I like dark and moody in the winter months and something light and floral for the summer. If someone was to ask if I had a signature scent, I would always say something by Narciso Rodriguez as there just isn't anything quite like it. I buy a lot of fragrance from Fragrance Direct as they have the best prices, especially for Narciso Rodriguez as they're on the pricy side so it's worth checking them out if you're looking for something particular.

Narciso Eau de Parfum is one of my all-time favourites, it's a heady blend of wood notes mixed with amber and white flowers. I always get asked what I'm wearing if I have this on, it's just beautiful! The second scent I use is Narciso Rodriguez For Her, it's more floral than Narciso and has notes of osmanthus, African orange flower and bergamot. They're both brilliant for parties and nights out!

Fix your hair
I am useless when it comes to doing my own hair, I wear it down as it falls after a blow-dry or I give it a once over with some hair straighteners and that's it. If I want my hair curled or wavey then I head to GHD in Southampton and my lovely friend there will do it for me so when GHD offered to send my very own pair of GHD Platinum + White Styler I said yes and started to teach myself how to use them properly.

The stylers are incredible and adapt to your hair plus they heat in seconds. I find them so much lighter than anything I've ever used before meaning I can actually get my hair into beachy waves or loose curls. It's only taken me fifteen years! These are definitely one to pop on your Christmas list so you can have luscious hair this Christmas too.

Paint your nails
I always have my nails painted, I remember my best friend asking me if something was wrong when I didn't have them painted once (she was right, I was stressed to the max before hosting a blog event!) because it's one way I always feel put together. Gel polish is what I've used for years so having a handy little kit to use at home makes life much easier and SensatioNail is my go-to.

The SensatioNail Rose Gold Starter Kit is a dream to use and comes with absolutely everything you need for an at-home mani. The set comes with a polish in Macchiato, a gorgeous nude and their best-selling Rose Gold Glitter as well as files, buffers, clippers and more!

I thought it was going to be so much harder to use but it was a doddle, my technique could be better and it will get better with more practice but overall, I'm so happy with the result. Plus using it at home means I'm saving on monthly nail appointments.

It's the perfect way to get that festive nails this Christmas!

The perfect red
Wearing a red lip at Christmas is almost compulsory right?! Charlotte Tilbury's Red Carpet Red has been my favourite for most of this year and it's the exact shade I'll be rocking around the Christmas tree this Christmas.

It's described as a true ruby red and on me, it is my perfect shade. The shade is part of the Matte Revolution line featuring ingredients that plump and hydrate lips giving a sultry, matte finish. It lasts for hours including through food and drink and it's quickly become my go-to red.

Get the look
Finding the perfect makeup products that last can take some time, I'm pretty happy with what I'm using at the moment and I've added a few more bits to my collection from Beauty Pie recently so my New Year's Eve face is set! I love the One Palette Wonder that looks very similar to one I've wanted from Charlotte Tilbury for ages and ya know what? I think I'll stick with this one. It includes blush, highlight, bronzer and eye shadow shades so perfect for weekends away as you have everything you need in one handy palette.

I also love the Triple Beauty Good Lighting Luminous Trio for adding some glow to your cheekbones. It's gorgeous, weightless and baked so you just know it's gonna be good. You need a membership to buy from Beauty Pie and if you use this code or enter Alice Spake at check out in the Refer a Friend bit you'll get a months free membership.

So there you have it, everything you need to get festive ready and have the best night of your life!

  12. Having my nails painted and red lipstick always makes me feel so festive! I'd love to have Charlotte Tilbury lipstick x

  13. I've always wanted to try an at-home gel manicure as I'm too scared to show a real nail tech the state of my fingernails haha! So that definitely would be something I'd love to try. I also looove the look of the GHD styler - I have the world's oldest pair of GHD straighteners and they still serve me well, but maybe I'll have to upgrade to something a bit more multifunctional!

  14. I wish I could be like you and always have my nails painted. I go through fits and starts but it never lasts long enough.
