Urban Decay Born to Run

If there's one thing that gets me hot under the collar, it's a new palette from Urban Decay and when Born to Run fell into my mitts, I did a little squeal. The Born to Run collection is available nationwide and features everything you need when you're on the run from a 21 pan makeup palette to lipsticks and setting spray. It's a collection I never knew I needed and now I'm frantically trying to justify buying all three of the lipsticks, especially shade 66.

The Urban Decay Born to Run makeup palette (£39.50) features 21 jaw dropping shades in slim, black packaging adorned with images from across the globe. It's set to get your thirst for travel flowing. The one stop palette aims to be all you need, wherever you are. It's your globetrotting buddy, your city break sister and so much more.

The palette helps you create beautiful looks at the drop of a hat thanks to the variety of shades Think stunning jewel tones, soft neutrals and sultry smoky shades. As with all Urban Decay eye shadows, the formula is velvety soft, insanely rich in colour and blends like a dream. It's why they're some of my most used eye shadows, it's a fabulous formula that you can rely on and they last for hours upon hours.

As well as the oh so gorgeous palette, the collection features three brand new vice lipsticks, a bright rose, a rich mauve and a dark berry plus three glide on eye pencils in gorgeous jewel tones to compliment the eye shadows. There's a reddish brown, dark copper and a deep metallic green which is by far my fave, I couldn't resist a cheeky purchase!

The shade details:

  • Breakaway - warm ivory shimmer
  • Stranded - pale rose gold with shimmer
  • Blaze - metallic peach pink
  • Weekender - beige matte
  • Still Shot - bright peach
  • Riff - brown nude matte with sparkle
  • Good as Gone - deep brown with iridescent sparkle
  • Hell Ride - fuchsia matte
  • Baja - burnt orange matte (and my fave!)
  • Accelerate - red metallic copper
  • Guilt Trip - smoky purple shimmer
  • Ignite - rose gold metallic
  • Smog - deep copper bronze
  • Wanderlust - forest green shimmer
  • Wildheart - bright fuchsia
  • Punk - red brown matte
  • Double Life - metallic rust
  • Jet - black purple shimmer
  • Drift - charcoal satin
  • Radio - emerald satin
  • Big Sky - frost green shimmer

There is one little flaw as I don't like the packaging. I love how slim, compact and sturdy it is but I don't like the images splashed across it as for me, it doesn't feel very Urban Decay. The packaging works well with the idea of the palette but for me, it's a thumbs down. I like the over the top quirkiness of my faves at UD and this isn't it.

Don't let the packaging sway you away though because the gorgeous shades and reliable formula more than make up for it. I am Breakway, Blaze and Baja are my current go tos but I can't wait to pair Radio and Big Sky for a night out with the girls. This will be the first thing I pack next time I jet away.
