Blogger's Festival with Scarlett London

On the 5th of September, 250 bloggers and vloggers descended on the Conrad St James in London for the Bloggers Festival organised by the lovely Scarlett London. I went to one of her events back in April this year and really enjoyed myself so after arranging to stay in London for the weekend with Karis and Tanya, I was really looking forward to it. I and the girls grabbed lunch in Trafalgar Square before the event so we could have a huge catch up before walking to the venue.

Autumn Lip Favourites

As today is officially the start of Autumn I thought I'd share my favourite Autumn lip colours because we all love a berry lip, right?! I tried to throw in at least one high street lip colour but it turns out I don't really own any. Seems I need to hit the high street and pick up some cheaper alternatives so if you have any recommendations, please let me know.

MAC Cosmetics Lady Danger

If you've seen my MAC lipstick collection you'll know I'm partial to a lippy or ten. I recently added Lady Danger to the collection after I won a blog giveaway so after giving it a trial for a few weeks I thought I'd share my thoughts on here because let's face it, we all love a new lipstick especially when it's in black bullet packaging.

Autumn Clichés We All Love to Hate

Autumn is in the air, the leaves are falling, the air is getting crisper and with that comes some of my little peeves about Autumn and the clichés that come with it. Through talking to people on Twitter I know I'm not alone so get comfy, sit back and have a read...

Merumaya Everything Everywhere Beauty Oil

I took the plunge with facial oils earlier this year and I've been so surprised at just how great they are for the skin. Having suffered with oily skin for years I was under the impression a facial oil would just worsen the situation. Oh how wrong was I?! Turns out facial oils do the wonders for oily skin when applied within in a skincare routine. Most say to use twice daily but I only ever use mine at night before my moisturiser. Merumaya have just released their Everything, Everywhere Beauty Oil which is the multi purpose beauty oil you need on your dressing table.

Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette

When I first saw the Sleek Solstice Highlighting palette, my first thought was Hourglass at a much more affordable price. I've embraced the love of highlighters the last few months with The Balm's Mary Lou Mannizer and Benefit Cosmetics Watts! Up being two of my favourites but that was about to change thanks to this golden beauty.

Happy 5th Birthday Birchbox!

Birchbox are celebrating their 5th birthday this September with this month's Birchday box. I still see monthly subscription boxes as a pretty new thing with new releases coming out all the time but you have to hand it to the originals, Birchbox, for always being one step ahead of the game. This month's box is full of treats and one lucky winner will also win a three month subscription if you head over to my Twitter page, @alicespake

Why I'll Never Use Rimmel Again.

I'm not usually a negative nelly on here but I'm so disappointed and genuinely annoyed with Rimmel that I just had to write a post on it. I've used Rimmel on and off over the years but have never been a massive fan of their products. A few months back my younger sister wanted to try out a highstreet primer so I suggested the Stay Matte Primer as it's the one product I do quite like of theirs. Emily has quite sensitive skin, as do I but because I've never had an issue with it, she went straight out to buy it.

Sleek Garden of Eden Palette

I've read so much on Sleek in the last year or so of blogging yet I've only tried one of their blushes so when the Garden of Eden palette came in my festival survival kit from Boots I was intrigued to see if these bargain palettes really lived up to the hype. Each palette comes in a slim, black design which is a real bitch to open. Clearly when making cheaper palettes, opening them easily wasn't on Sleek's agenda. Inside you get a mirror the same size of the palette and twelve shadows each weighing 1.1g.

Lush Cosmetics Kinky Hot Oil Treatment

At the Lush Southampton blog event I went to recently we were given pretty awesome goody bags and inside mine I found Kinky Hot Oil Treatment. At the event, Lucy talked a few of us through how to use them and I'd already decided I was going to buy one when pay day hit my account so I was really happy to find this in the goody bag.

Vichy Dercos Shampoo & Conditioner

New shampoo and conditioner makes me happy, I have a ridiculous amount laying around as I never quite finish them all but I continue to buy even more as I'm always on the hunt for that perfect set. I'd never used Vichy up until recently and I've been quite impressed. The Vichy Dercos hair range has had so much research go into it to help find the best ingredients for hair growth, a healthy looking scalp and visible results.

Lush Summer Launch Event

Last week I was invited along to the Lush Southampton Blogger Event which was showcasing their new Summer products. There were products from Lush Oxford Street, new formulas and all things Lush. Rosie and her team always put on awesome events, they're an incredibly welcoming bunch and there is always a friendly face whenever I go into the store. One of the new soaps launched was Layer Cake which has lots of fruity layers which also inspired The Fruit Bar for the evening where we could mix up our drinks and fruit pots.
