The intoxicating story of Lumière Dorée by Miller Harris

(Features press samples - see disclaimer)

Miller Harris has been on my radar for a while but it was a brand I just hadn't got to yet - I'm a perfume junkie and don't have a signature scent as such as I tend to change what I wear each season but this has found it's way in easily.

If you're unfamiliar with the fragrance brand, Miller Harris is a couture British fragrance house, founded in 2000, with a spirit of bespoke fragrance creation at it's heart. The brand is committed to using beautiful natural materials whilst pushing creative boundaries.

The brand was founded by ground-breaking perfumer Lyn Harris - she worked with world-renowned fragrance house Robertet in France in her early career, and was one of the first female master perfumers. The aesthetic of her perfumes was inspired by stories, memories and the very finest natural ingredients which translates beautifully into each of her fragrances.

When creating fragrances, Miller Harris starts with nature, framing precious botanicals in complex ways to find richness in simplicity - using natural ingredients (which are all ethically and sustainably sourced), rather than synthetics to create beautiful Eau de Parfums.

Being new to Miller Harris myself, I used their scent finder on their website to narrow down my selection. I enjoy citrus or amber scents - something memorable, heady but in parts light that I can wear day or night.

It was the citrus fragrances that caught my eye this time. Described on the website as loved by everyone - the fragrances feel bright, exuberant, uplifting and reminiscent of summer. Think oils pressed from the rind of citrus fruits and the hazy sunlit freshness of bergamot to the sweetness of mandarin or bitter zest of the orange - perfect!

Miller Harris Lumière Dorée (£125.00) is an intoxicatingly fresh, summery and unisex fragrance, balancing both sides of neroli: zingy floralcy with the intensity of the white blossom. With the headiness of bergamot alongside hypnotic jasmine, it's an unbelievably captivating fragrance.

Head Notes: Bergamot Italy EO, Petit Grain Bigaradier EO, Orange Bigarade EO
Heart Notes: Neroli Bigarade Morocco EO, Sambac Jasmine abs, Orange Blossom EO
Lasting Impressions: Cashmere wood, Vetiver EO, Crisp Amber, White Musks

The fragrance is housed in the most beautiful glass bottle with illustrations adorning the back - it's one that has totally stolen my heart. The staying power is fabulous - I can apply in the AM and still get notes of it by the evening and it's one I've been asked a few times what I'm wearing.

There's quite a wonderful selection of fragrances available from Miller Harris - Tea Tonique and Scherzo are next on my list to try, the description of both just completely sold them to me and I adore the bottles.

They're such beautiful and special fragrances to have adorning my dressing table.

I'll have to make it into one of the boutiques in London on my next visit to the city.
