Plastic Free July at Persephone Beauty

(Features press samples - see disclaimer)

Have you heard of Plastic Free July? It's a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution so we can have cleaner streets, oceans and communities. In the spirit of all things plastic-free, Persephone Beauty has created bundles to help you on your way to living a more plastic-free life.

They've created three different bundles which include The Beginner's Bundle, The Cleansing Bundle and The Haircare Heroes Bundle making it the perfect way to introduce you to some plastic-free beauty staples. Each bundle comes packaged in an organic cotton bag as well as with a discount code so if you discover some new favourites you can try more!

I have one of The Beginner's Bundles (£25.00) which has a little bit of everything but none of the waste. Inside you'll find three products to slip into your skincare routine - The MOA The Green Fairy Hand & Lip Balm, Upcircle Cinnamon & Ginger Chai Soap Bar and Elsa's Sweet Clementine Creme Deodorant.

I was really eager to try this one as it contains a solid deodorant - something I am yet to try as I've just been really unsure how to use them. I needn't have worried because if you take a little visit to the Persephone Beauty website, in the information they give you a little run down on how to use everything. Turns out solid deodorant is much easier to use than I first thought and so far, so good!

Elsa's Sweet Clementine Creme Deodorant is a sweet-scented cream formula which helps to neutralise and balance bacteria leaving you feeling and smelling great. Its key ingredients are organic coconut oil which has anti-microbial properties, Arrowroot powder to keep underarms dry and fresh as well as Himalayan pink salt to neutralise odour.

I adore the smell of this but I also have my eye on the Ocean scent too - I'm hoping I love this at the end of the tin as this is a switch I've really been wanting to make for a while.

I'm a sucker for a lip balm and the MOA The Green Fairy Hand & Lip Balm is fab - the balm contains Absinthe extract which is often referred to in historical literature as "la fee verte" aka The Green Fairy and is derived from the leaves of wormwood, anise and fennel. Absinthe is famed for its antibacterial, anti-fungal and antioxidant properties which is what makes it so great for lips and hands.

This particular balm is enriched with shea butter, cocoa butter, candelilla wax, lemon peel and grapefruit essential oils so you get a beautifully vibrant scent - much better than the hit of Absinthe I was expecting!

It feels lovely and I've been applying it before bed so I wake up to beautifully nourished lips.

I've used a few products from Upcircle in the past so was pleased to see them included within the bundle. The brand is very recycle, re-use and re-purpose which is ideal for Plastic-Free July. The Upcircle Cinnamon & Ginger Chai Soap Bar smells incredible - it's sat proudly in our en-suite at the moment as I've been using it in the mornings to cleanse. The soap bar helps to leave skin clean, soft and smooth and the deliciously chai scent lingers - I keep catching whiffs of it during the day.

It contains pink clay which is super gentle, leaves skin calmer and helps to reduce redness while the organic cinnamon and ginger oil refreshes and revives the skin.

Each of the bundles are available now and as Persephone Beauty stock so many great natural beauty products it's the perfect time to have a browse - some of my favourite brands such as Evolve & Nessa are stocked too.
