Five skincare brands I still love five years later

I've used a lot of different brands over the years and as with anything, there are some that have stuck and certainly lasted the test of time. I have quite a few brands I rely on but there are five that have cemented themselves within my skincare routine and I wanted to share what they were today.

If you had a look on our bathroom shelves or dived deep within my beauty drawers it would be these brands that you'd find time and time again. I've loved, used and repurchased them more than anything else and I think that says a lot as I try a lot of skincare from various different brands. They all stuck and I think that will be the case for a few more years to come...

Weleda
I think just about everyone has heard of Weleda's cult beauty product, Skin Food - it's one of those products that everyone should try once and I don't think I've been without a tube for around ten years. The uber-rich cream is a nourishing treatment for the whole body - it's deeply penetrating and ideal for dry patches especially in the winter months. It's made with organic sunflower seed oil and extracts of wild pansy, chamomile, calendula and rosemary extract which gives skin the ultimate dose of TLC. It's recently been released in a lighter version too as the original Skin Food is very rich, a little goes a long way.

I'm also a big fan of their Stretch Mark Massage Oil which I used a lot of while I was pregnant and included it within My Pregnancy Essentials

I have used Jurlique for longer than I can remember and it's a brand I recommend all the time. Most recently I shared a blog post on the Jurlique Nutri Define Collection and I've really enjoyed using it. If you really had to pull my arm my top products would be their Rosewater Balancing Mist which is perfect for instant hydration, the Rose Hand Cream that leaves my hands oh so smooth and the Skin Balancing Face Oil which is one of my all-time favourites!

The brand is created by husband and wife team, Dr Jürgen Klein, a biochemist, and his wife Ulrike, a botanist, they had always been passionate believers in the healing power of nature. Their vision was to create a pure and natural skincare range combining the ancient arts of alchemy, herbal medicine and homoeopathy to reconnect people to nature. They began their search for the purest place on earth and after searching the world, they discovered the unspoiled Adelaide Hills in South Australia and Jurlique was born.

If you're looking for really beautiful, natural skincare then Jurlique is absolutely the first place to look. You'd be hard-pressed not to fall in love.

REN Clean Skincare
Clean Skincare is at the heart of what REN do meaning incredible products created with sustainable ingredients from sustainable sources every time plus they're sustainably packaged too. I've used a number of their products over the years and regularly pin the Evercalm and Radiance collections as my all-time favourites.

My top products from the Radiance range are the REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask which I've used countless times - I'm never without one and the REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic which is one of my favourite toners, I'm on my sixth bottle at the moment. It's just a really fab range for injecting some glow into your skin especially in the winter months when skincare can feel and look duller.

The Evercalm Collection is brilliant if you have sensitive skin - I used this after I had our son as my skin went completely haywire and the products calmed it down so much. The Ren Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk is what I love the most from the range and I've just recently finished another bottle - it's brilliant at removing the day's makeup and leaving your skin clean and nourished. The Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream is great too!

I don't think there's anything I've tried from REN Clean Skincare that I haven't loved, the suncare is getting me through these hot days we've been experiencing too!

Bee Good
With roots as beekeepers, Bee Good know a thing or two about the benefits of using honey within skincare. At Bee Good they use natural ingredients, derived from British bees along with bee-friendly wildflower extracts. Honey, propolis, and beeswax have been used for thousands of years to heal and protect the skin and since their humble beginnings making balms and salves at the kitchen table, they’ve embraced these natural, soothing ingredients. I've been using Bee Good since 2014 and I think I've just about used every single one of their products in that time. I really like the brand as a whole, I've met the owners a few times and they're absolutely lovely and I really do love the products but there are two especially that stole my heart.

I couldn't tell you how many of the Honey & Propolis Cream Cleansers I've used over the years - I've actually just opened a new one! The luxurious and creamy cleanser helps lift away makeup and impurities, gently exfoliates and with ingredients like British Propolis to balance the complexion, Wildflower Honey to moisturise and Crambe oil to nourish skin has never felt or looked so good.

I'm also a huge lover of the Honey & Camelina Facial Exfoliator unfortunately not pictured as I ran out a week or so before I had the idea for this post and I'm currently trialling a different one. Again, I've used countless tubes of this - I love it because it's super scrubby just how I like it without stripping away my skin. Milled lavender flowers lift and exfoliate away dead skin cells without irritation. Wheatgerm oil soothes and moisturises dry skin, whilst British Propolis helps to balance problematic skin and Camelina oil protects and nourishes - it's a fab little tube!

If you haven't tried Bee Good before then I urge you to give them ago, I have no doubt that you'll end up loving them too.

Merumaya was created by a woman called Maleka, having been in the cosmetics industry for a number of years, Merumaya was born through a love of skincare, beauty and of course integrative effective skincare for all skin types and ages. One of their most memorable and much-loved campaigns is Beauty has no Age, a campaign to remind everyone not to be pressured to look a certain way. It's a message to unite women of all ages and share in beauty confidence, something I've forgotten myself many a time.

They have a killer skincare range with the Mud Marvels Mask, Everything Everywhere Beauty Oil and Luxury Facial Wash being some of my top products. I've featured a number of their products over the years and they've firmly found their spot in my beauty drawers too - it's a brand I wouldn't be without.

If I had to pick just one product, the Melting Cleansing Balm would be it. I have gone through countless tubes. It's just incredible. It works by beginning to melt and emulsify makeup, you then mix with water to create a light milk consistency which helps to remove makeup fully. I find the balm extremely gentle on my skin and it helps improves the surface and any imperfections. I find a pea-sized amount is all I need to use so the 100ml tubes last me for a few months. It's a great product and you can buy smaller tubes for travelling too.

Merumaya is a brand you should certainly check out if you haven't already!
