Mettricks Late Night Menu & Cocktails

Most of you are fully aware of my love for Mettricks, an independent coffee house based in Southampton. I spend a lot of time there with family and friends catching up and enjoying their fabulous coffee so when they launched their new later opening times with a spanking new food and cocktail menu, I was ready and waiting to sample it. I went along with Rachel and Anna where we whiled away the hours with cocktails, great food and live music.

As of last Friday, Mettricks will now be opening until 10pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday meaning you can now head on down after work for a cocktails and local ales while taking in the relaxed vibe and maybe crack out a game of Monopoly.

Throughout the evening we sampled their new evening menu and I can confirm the food is pretty incredible, from flatbreads to sweet potato and good ol' mac & cheese, there is something for everyone. Plus anywhere that puts pigs in blankets on their menu whatever time of year, kinda have my heart that little bit more.

The main show for me were definitely the cocktails. The Mettricks Garden, which is gin based is a firm favourite. It's made with gin, elderflower, mint and cucumber, so refreshing and perfect for warm, summer evenings. I also loved the Espresso Martini, not a traditional mix but one I definitely prefer, made with Revelation Espresso, vodka, kahlua, baileys and vanilla.

I can't wait for the evenings to get warmer so I can spend my time hanging out at Mettricks with friends. As always, if you're around Southampton or visiting then make it your mission to visit Mettricks, with one situated in the old town, another opposite the Bargate castle and a soon to be third in the cultural quarter, you really won't regret it.

  1. Year-round pigs in blankets with cocktails?! Yes please. Yum!
