Baby Spake is Six Months Old

Every month when I sit down and write this post, I can't believe that we're another month down. Joshua is now six months old, half a year and I can hardly believe it. I remember talking about when he'd be six months while I was pregnant and it seemed like we had so much time but we're here already. He has changed so much that I'm fascinated by every new thing he learns but a little sad that we're getting further and further away from the newborn days. But here we are six months, and boy have they been an incredible six months.

The big thing this month was that Joshua moved into his big boy cot! He looks so tiny in it that I just want to wrap him back up in my arms. He sleeps really well in the cot and we've had no problems thankfully. I still can't resist a little peek when we creep in to go to sleep ourselves though while he's curled up with his sloth. So adorable.

We have more teeth, the two we thought were cutting have slowed down and instead we've had a top tooth coming through closely followed by the second one. Teething sucks, it really does so we've been armed with Calpol and teething gel to help him out as much as we can. I'm really hoping this is it for teeth for a few weeks, little bubba needs a break from teeth.

Joshua has definitely found his strength and is rolling all over the place, the only problem we have is when he rolls onto his stomach, he gets stuck and forgets how to move back and then has a tantrum until we roll him back. Makes for some interesting night times if he rolls over in his sleep! He also loves standing up, it brings the biggest smile to his face if gets to stand up on the floor or someone. His favourite thing to do is blow raspberries, I wake up to him blowing raspberries at 6am as if his life depended on it. It's so funny even if I do end up covered in spit, milk or porridge.

Weaning is going well. We're still taking our time but he has porridge every morning followed by milk throughout the day and then a dinner of mixed vegetable puree. We switch between ones I've made or the Ella's Kitchen pouches which make life so easy! We're going to start introducing more food this month but we're going at our pace with traditional weaning. It works really well for us.

We start Daisy Wrigglers tomorrow which is baby massage, yoga and sensory play and the next stage up from the classes we were doing. It's a small group and I enjoy them, as does Joshua. Now he's a bit older we'll be looking into swimming for him as Arran really wants to start taking him too and I might see what else is about but if I'm honest, I'm really not into the baby class/playgroup scene. We'll see, I'm happy with him being my coffee buddy at the moment.

In the last week he has changed so much again, he really recognises people, laughs and giggles so much and is incredibly entertaining but he does have a moody side and does like a tantrum which is hilarious to watch. I can't wait to see what the next month brings.
