Childhood Dreams with Workwear Express

When I was growing up my mind was always set; Finish school, go to college, go to university and become a History teacher, oh how things change. At 15, I moved to Spain with my parents and finished my education there and everything changed. It was always in the back of my mind but not enough for me to do anything about it, even when I eventually moved back to the UK. Living in Spain gave me more than I thought it would. A completely different experience and view on life. Going to college and university isn't the be all and end all. People who drum in that you need university for a good job is full of crap.

There are plenty of people in the world that are now CEO's of multi million pound companies that have never been to university and to be honest, I'm not doing too badly myself plodding along in my job, I can genuinely say I'm happy with my lot. I feel that life experience has much more worth than a degree at times. When you're young, with or without commitments, seeing the world and doing more of what you love is much more valuable. Schools and colleges should be teaching things we need to know like how to apply for mortgages, manage money better and pay the bills, not algebra and meaning of Pi.

Sometimes childhood dreams, definitely in my case are just that... Dreams. Yes, plenty of people make their dreams come true but I'm glad I didn't because then it wouldn't be a dream anymore and with the way schooling and teaching is nowadays I'd probably of ended up hating mine. In the mean time I'll enjoy it by watching films of the world wars and reading about lost trains.

What was your childhood dream? Have you made yours a reality?
