The Base Stories with Glo & Ray

You all know I have an ongoing love affair with Glo & Ray and they're gradually taking over my make up collection so today I'm posting about the primer and foundation duo that haven't left my face. When I talked about my Perfect Base Duo in May I didn't think anything else would come along and knock it off it's pedestal until I tried the Nebulae Foundation and the CC Primer.

Debenhams Beauty Gala

Amy and Tanya and I were invited up to Debenhams Basingstoke last week for their Beauty Gala event which was taking place across all stores. Greeted with drinks and canapes, the lovely Davina then showed us around to each counter and introduced us to each of the consultants. There was lots happening on the night with beauty tutorials by Urban Decay, brow talks with Benefit Cosmetics, Skin consultations and facials with Clarins and lots to win on the night including some amazing raffle prizes.

Lush Oxford Street Haul

When my friend Mandy from www.onesliceoflemon.com told me she was off up to London and was dropping into Lush Cosmetic's new flagship in Oxford Street, my eyes lit up. Mandy asked me if I wanted her to pick up any new products and I, of course said yes. Armed with my list, the girl did me proud and I couldn't wait for my little bag of Lush goodness to come home.

Orange Rooms Southampton

Southampton is becoming quite the place for good food. With new eateries popping up weekly at the moment, there's more choice than ever but sometimes you have to stick to your old favourites, especially when your old favourites introduce a banging new menu. A couple of weeks ago Orange Rooms unveiled their new menu featuring lite bites to street food and their Dessert of the Week. Orange Rooms are known for their awesome burgers which haven't disappeared from the menu and that includes The Challenge Burger if you've got the stomach for it.

June Birchbox with French Sole

I love the time of the month when my Birchbox arrives and after seeing some sneak peaks on Birchbox's Instagram account I was really excited for their collaboration with French Sole, the go to place for pretty pumps. That was until I opened the box to one of this years most disappointing boxes. Repeats, perfume samples and a body lotion that smells like Sudocrem, not that thrilling. I was expecting so much more from a collaboration with French Sole, maybe a style guide, 10% discount code or at least some products in relation to feet because lets be honest how many of us are really going to use the shoe bag for actually putting shoes in?!

Dr.Jackson's 03 Face Oil

I've recently been using a new facial oil so it was about time I shared what I thought about it. I get quite oily skin mid afternoon so I've always stayed away from oil fearing it would make my skin worse but my skin had been so aggravated the last few months that I was willing to try anything to get it back to its best. In the Tatler for Birchbox from April I received Dr Jackson's 03 Face Oil which is made from 100% natural ingredients.

Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up!

I've gone a bit highlighter mad in recent months and finally bought Watt's Up! back in February. I've been a big fan of High Beam for more years than I want to admit and felt like it was time to branch out in the Benefit Highlighter department. I'd been undecided between Watt's Up! and Girl Meets Pearl for so long but the champagne glow stole my heart. The packaging was also a big sway factor, a pretty lilac tube with the product one end and a blending sponge the other.

Nude Lip Loving

A nude lip is the easiest thing to work once you've found your perfect nude. Remember your teenage years of foundation lips? Yup, we've all been there and unfortunately the photos are there to haunt us. Mac Myth I'm looking at you. After a fair few years of trial and error, I have three nude lipsticks I wear again and again. Admittedly they all look pretty similar but there is a slight difference in shade, texture and longevity.
